Epic Games recently pulled Water Sprites from Fortnite after players uncovered a glitch causing endless health and shield boosts.
In Chapter 6, the battle royale introduced Air and Water Sprites. Air Sprites work as a throwable lift, while Water Sprites restore health and grant shields. These cute critters won over fans, with some even asking for them as backbling items.
But on March 25, Epic quietly yanked Water Sprites from the game. The reason? A duplication glitch players were exploiting. For the first time, players can ditch combat gear with free Fortnite OG skins.
How the Fortnite Water Sprites Glitch Works

HYPEX, a Fortnite-focused account, announced the Water Sprites’ removal on March 25, pointing to an “infinite builds HP glitch.” This bug, spotted on TikTok and Instagram, lets players multiply Water Sprites in Build mode.
TikToker relishhtv demonstrated it: toss a Water Sprite, grab another simultaneously, and it duplicates. Once the thrown Sprite activates, players can grab another and repeat, creating a squad of blue helpers.
This glitch gave players unlimited heals and shields, prompting Fortnite’s team to act fast and remove Water Sprites from the battle royale.
No word yet on when Epic might bring them back. The developers haven’t officially commented as of now.
Looking Ahead: Water Sprites’ Future
Epic Games acted swiftly to address the Water Sprites glitch, ensuring fair play in Fortnite’s battle royale. While fans miss these helpful creatures, the removal highlights the team’s focus on balance. Players eagerly await news on their return, hoping for a fix that keeps the fun without the exploits. For now, the battle royale rolls on without Water Sprites, leaving Air Sprites as the lone elemental aid. Stay tuned for updates as Epic works behind the scenes.
