Unleashing the Power of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 Game (MWIII) - A Gamer's Delight
Updated: Aug 10
Modern Warfare 3 game is an open-world, player-versus-environment video game set in 2023. It is the third installment of the rebooted Call of Duty sub-series, and the twentieth in the series. It is the sequel to the 2022 game Modern Warfare II and is set to be released on 10 November 2023 for PS4, Xbox 5, Windows, and Xbox One, as well as X/S. Modern Warfare 3 Game follows the story of Task Force 141, a multinational special operations unit, as they track down a Russian ultra-nationalist and terrorist who is planning to start a third world war. The game’s multiplayer features sixteen remasters of 2009’s Modern Warfare 2 maps, and at least twelve more maps are planned to be added after launch. Additionally, a new Zombies mode is also available, developed by Black Ops Sub-Series developer Treyarch.
After completing development on the sequel to the first Call of Duty game, Call of Duty (2021) (the sequel to Call of Duty (1999)) (the sequel to the third game in the series, the sequel to the original series, Modern Warfare (2000), (the sequel to Modern Warfare (2003)), (the original game in the series was the sequel to Modern Warfare II (2003)), (Sledgehammer Games) was reportedly commissioned by Activision to create an expansion pack to Modern Warfare II. The expansion pack was later changed to a standalone Call of Duty game. Modern Warfare 3 Game was first leaked in early to mid-2023 and was officially announced in August of 2023. A showcase event was held in October, and a public beta was also held in October. The Modern Warfare 3 game was met with mixed reviews, with praise for the multiplayer mode, but criticism for the campaign mode, and mixed opinions for the Zombies mode.
Understanding the Gameplay of Modern Warfare 3 Game (MWIII)
Modern Warfare 3 gameplay is similar to that of Modern Warfare II and many other Call of Duty games. The game’s single-player campaign consists of a mix of linear missions, as well as open-world missions called “Open Combat Missions” (OCM). In OCMs, players have more control over how they approach their objectives, as they can choose between open combat, stealth, and ambush tactics. Modern Warfare 3 Game on-screen maps of the game’s locations are available, as well as a tactical map that shows objectives and standard equipment. Players can also find caches for weapons, gear, MW3 camos, and special equipment. During Modern Warfare 3 game OCM missions, enemies respond differently depending on how they’re being used. If they lose sight of players, they’ll start searching for them, and they’ll call in more reinforcements as their numbers dwindle.
In Modern Warfare 3 game Multiplayer, you’ll be able to play on all sixteen maps from the original Call of Duty (2009). You’ll also be able to vote for maps in matchmade lobbies (something that was missing in some recent games), and you’ll have more health for longer “Time-to-Kill” (TTK) periods. The “red dot” minimap, which was absent in MWC (2019) and MWC II, returns, allowing you to see enemies on your radar when you fire a weapon that doesn’t have a suppressor. You can also cancel sliding animations (“slide cancel”). Classic game modes like “Kill Confirmed” and “Hardpoint” are back, as well as a new game mode called “Cutthroat”, where you can play against three teams of up to three players in a 32v32 “Ground War” mode with a variety of dedicated maps. Finally, the Modern Warfare 3 game sees the return of the “War” mode, which was last seen in 2017’s Call of Duty (WWII). The game also includes moderation powered by AI, which listens in on in
Modern Warfare 3 game also includes a PvE Zombies mode developed by Treyarch and Sledgehammer Games. This Modern Warfare 3 game mode is similar to Call of Duty’s DMZ mode, but instead of the round survival experience of older Zombies modes, up to 24 players can play as separate teams on a large-scale map, which also serves as Warzone’s new battle royale mode. Each team can take on zombies and AI-controlled human foes, completing objectives around the map while also collecting loot and selling it at buy stations or extracting it through exfiltration. The Modern Warfare 3 game map is divided into “zones” with different levels of threat depending on the difficulty level. After 45 minutes of in-game time, an “Aether Storm” begins to spread across the map, giving players 15 minutes to get out of the game with their loot. The core mechanics of previous Zombies modes are still present, including weapon wall buys and Perk-a-Cola drinks, as well as the Mystery Box.

Understanding Modern Warfare 3 Game (MWIII) Campaign Plot
Modern Warfare 3 game (MWIII) starts in November 2023: A Russian private military company known as the "Konni Group" launches an attack on the "Zordaya Prison Complex" in the Kastovia region of Russia. The mission is to find and rescue their leader, Vladimir Makarov. Makarov was sentenced to life in prison at the complex after he was captured by SAS operatives John “Soap” MacTavish, John Price, and John Price's team in April 2019 during a terrorist attack on the Verdansk Stadium. Hours later, the Konni Group attacked a port in the Russian province of Urzikstan in Modern Warfare 3 game.
The port Modern Warfare 3 game (MWIII) was being used by Farah Karim and Alex Keller of the "Urzikstan Liberation Force" to acquire ballistic missiles from the "PMC Shadow Company" and their leader, Phillip Graves. Graves faked his death after a confrontation with Task Force 141, a Russian special forces unit. The missiles are stolen from the port, but Farah manages to put trackers on the missiles. After learning that Makarov had escaped from CIA Station Chief in Modern Warfare 3 game (MWIII), Price takes 141 to the abandoned nuclear power plant to stop Konni from obtaining nuclear material left behind after Barkov's death. Konni gets away with the material, blowing some of it up to try and stop 141, and almost kills Price with the chemical gas it releases.
To find out what Makarov is up to, Laswell sneaks into the Arklov military base in Verdansk, where she meets with her handler, Colonel Yuriy Volkov. Yuriy gives Laswell a flash drive containing intel on Barkov's chemical weapons program but says the Kremlin is denying any involvement in the program. Later in Modern Warfare 3 game (MWIII), Laswell leaves the base just moments into an assault on the base using the stolen missiles. Makarov and his team hijack a civilian airliner, the Kastovian, and blow it up using a vest bomb attached to an ex-ULF fighter who was on board. Farah and Alex quickly remove any evidence of the ULF's involvement at the crash site of the plane in Urzikstan, before the local authorities arrive, despite Konni's best efforts to prevent this from happening.
Following the attacks in Modern Warfare 3 game (MWIII), Price grudgingly agrees to help General Herschel Shepherd (who is looking for a way to return to the U.S. after being forced to hide)[d] and Graves (who has made contact with Laswell). Using their information, Soap and Simone "Ghost" Riley sneak onto a private island occupied by the Konni and question Makarov's financial backer, Milena Romanov. Using Romanova's information, Price and Kyle “Gaz” Garrick deploy to Saint Petersburg where they arrest Konni agent Andrei Nolan. This leads them to intercept a convoy moving across Siberia to an old Soviet prison. When Price finds out that the cargo of the convoy is Shepherd (captured by Makarov), he decides to give him a choice: either he gives up all of his information about Makarov’s plans and agrees to testify against him in front of the United States Congress or he freezes to death in Siberia
Soap, with Ghost Riley's help, leads a team to stop Konni from blowing up the Gora dam. Farah, with Alex's help, Price's, and Gaz's help, leads an assault on the Konni base at Urzikstan with Graves' reluctant help from Shadow Company. Shepherd and Graves go back to the US to explain their actions to Congress, but they turn on each other at the same time. 141 goes back to London to keep hunting Makarov. After shadowing one of the Konni contacts in the Modern Warfare 3 game (MWIII), the group finds out that Makarov has a flash drive that allows him to control the UK’s train network, and that he’s planning to blow up the Channel Tunnel! With additional troops on the ground, Price leads an assault to free the hostages and prevent Makarov from blowing up the bomb that Konni planted. Soap tries to fight him off, but is shot dead by Makarov. Gaz, Ghost, and Soap’s ashes are then scattered at a cliffside in Scotland to honor his memory. In a mid-credits scene of Modern Warfare 3 game (MWIII), Price, with Laswell's aid, infiltrates Shepherd's office and assassinates him for his actions in Mexico.

This moment sets the tone for an exciting narrative shift, as he immediately deploys Konni forces to the strategically important city of Urzikstan to launch an ambitious and highly-anticipated new mission. Once Nolan returns to the chaotic world of Warzone, you’ll be plunged into a captivating and thrilling campaign that weaves together strategic, treacherous, and redemption elements. Modern Warfare 3 Game (MWIII) Zombies Campaign Plot
The Zombie campaign in Modern Warfare 3 game (MWIII) takes place in 2021, when arms dealer Viktor Zakhaev, with the help of his PMC Jack Fletcher, attacks police forces in the city of Zaravan, in the Urzikstan region. After murdering several officers, he and Fletcher break into a hotel underground, where they find two vials containing a substance of extraterrestrial origin known as “Aetherium.” As they prepare to leave, police reinforcements arrive, killing most of the men in the attack. Zakhaev tosses one of the bottles to the officers before riding away in an armored car with Fletcher, the explosion stunning the police and transforming them into zombies. A few weeks later in Modern Warfare 3 game (MWIII), Laswell sends Soap and former Spetsnaz Captain Sergei Raven to Zaravan, along with a strike team made up of elite operators to evaluate the situation and make sure nothing can escape from the exclusion zone. This is part of the CIA's Operation Deadbolt, a contingency plan designed to fight and contain the threat of the undead.
A short time after establishing their base of operations, Deadbolt receives an encrypted message from Dr. Ava Jansen, a physicist specializing in the study of Aetherium. Jansen, who had previously worked for Zakhaev, asks Deadbolt to help her get out of Zaravan. The Deadbolt strike team deploys to assist her exfiltration. At Deadbolt HQ, Dr. Jansen is questioned by Green, Soap, and Ravenov. Dr. Jansen explains that Zakhaev is currently in possession of weapons-grade Aetherium and that only she can stop him. Later in the Modern Warfare 3 game (MWIII), Green accepts Jansen’s offer and orders the strike team to assist her in constructing an “Aetherium Neutralizer,” a device designed to destabilize Aetherium crystals within a blast radius of its blast. Although the first test of the Neutralizer on raw crystalline Aetherium crystals was a success, Jansen notes that Zakhaev had refined his Aetherium and that the Neutralizer must be upgraded before it could be used against Terminus. She suggests they obtain research data from deceased scientist Oscar Strauss, a former leader of the classified task.
As the story unravels in Modern Warfare 3 game (MWIII), we find Deadbolt deploys on Zakhaev’s “Aetherium Refining Plant”, ready to use the Neutralizer against him, but is met with resistance from Terminus’ forces and a massive Dark Aether worm, Orcus, after a long battle. Jansen quickly reaches the Neutralizer’s activation point and turns it on, destroying Orcus and causing the Neutralizer to destabilize Zakhaev's “Vortex,” which sucks in everything in its path and forces Fletcher and Zakhaev to escape from the plant. As the vortex rises in the Modern Warfare 3 game (MWIII), Jansen is lifted into the air, and a dark purple glow appears before her as if inviting her to enter. She screams and falls, then opens her eyes and Ravenov rushes to her aid. Not long after, Deadbolt’s drone pilot, Lucas “Luke” Dobbs, reports to Ravenov that while the initial Neutralizer activation was successful, Dark Aether “connections” are beginning to re-emerge across Zaravan and an energy spike is appearing in the “red” zone.
Following this discovery in the Modern Warfare 3 game (MWIII), Deadbolt's strike team is sent back to Zaravan to investigate another anomaly. This time, they find a portal that leads them to a Dark Aether dimension, where they encounter the same entity Jansen has encountered before. After a short encounter, the team exits the dimension. Back at Deadbolt's headquarters, Jansen experiences a hallucination as he researches a project backed by Requiem, code-named “Janus”, and all the people involved, including his former leads from Requiem and former BND agent Samantha Maxis (who had sacrificed herself back in 1985 to hold a potent Dark Aether entity known as “the Forsaken”).
A Look at the Development of Modern Warfare 3 Game (MWIII)
Modern Warfare 3 game (MWIII) was the fifth major Call of Duty title Sledgehammer Games had worked on, following co-creating Modern Warfare 3 in 2011 with Infinity Ward, developing 2014’s Advanced Warfare, 2017’s WWII, and 2021’s Vanguard. After wrapping up Vanguard, it was reported that Sledgehammer Games began work on a follow-up to Advanced Warfare. However, this project was shelved by Activision before it could get very far into development. Instead, the studio was given the task of creating an expansion pack for what was then expected to be the next Modern Warfare (2022). According to Bloomberg, the expansion was to include a smaller single-player campaign set in Mexico, as well as new content for the multiplayer component of Modern Warfare II. However, by the Summer of 2022, Activision decided to completely revamp the Modern Warfare 3 game (MWIII), assigning Sledgehammer Games to create a direct, full-fledged sequel to the original Modern Warfare II, featuring a new version of original antagonist Vladimir Makarov from the original Modern Warfare trilogy.
According to Schreier, this decision gave the studio's developers roughly sixteen months to make the Modern Warfare 3 game (MWIII), similar to the time they had to make Vanguard. Treyarch, the developer behind the Black ops sub-series, was also asked to create a Zombies mode for the game, Modern Warfare 3 game (MWIII) would be the first Modern Warfare game to include a Zombies mode. According to another Schreier report, some Sledgehammer Games developers claimed that they had not been informed of the decision to make the game a full release from the start, leading to a crunch situation. Some developers were also unhappy with Infinity Ward executives, who reportedly intervened multiple times during the development process to make substantial (and sometimes unwelcome) changes to the game. Sledgehammer Games’ studio head, Aaron Halon, denied Schreier’s report, saying that plans for the Modern Warfare 3 game (MWIII) began “long before we finished our previous game” and that the game was “years in the making”.
