The HIKSEMI Guard 256GB microSDXC Card is a higher-capacity TLC memory card designed for surveillance, continuous recording and general-purpose applications that benefit from dependable sustained write performance.
The 256GB capacity provides more recording time than the 128GB version, making it useful for compatible cameras and devices where reducing the frequency of card replacement or file offloading is important.
HIKSEMI rates the Guard/L2 256GB card for read speeds up to 95MB/s and write speeds up to 55MB/s. It carries Class 10, U3 and V30 speed ratings, which support sustained recording workloads on compatible devices.
TLC NAND is used to balance performance, durability and cost. The card supports microSDHC, microSDXC and UHS-I host devices, but the host must also support the 256GB capacity.
Operating temperature is specified from 0°C to 70°C, while the storage range extends from -25°C to 85°C. These ratings make the card suitable for a variety of fixed-camera and embedded-device environments when used within specification.
For users who need more recording capacity than a 128GB surveillance card provides, the Guard 256GB combines higher capacity with V30/U3 performance and a TLC flash platform intended for ongoing video-storage workloads.
For users choosing between capacities, the right option depends on the size of the files being stored and how often the card will be cleared. Larger cards reduce interruptions during travel, gaming or recording, while smaller capacities work well for lighter use. Always format the card in the host device where possible and keep a separate backup of important files.
In regular use, storage-card performance depends on both the card and the device reading it. Cameras, handheld consoles and mobile devices each impose their own limits, so a fast card will perform best in hardware designed to take advantage of its speed class. Keeping a little free space available also helps with file management and reduces the need for constant cleanup.
