The DeepCool SC790 is a combined PWM fan and addressable-RGB hub designed to simplify cable management in PCs that use several synchronized cooling fans. It allows up to six compatible PWM ARGB fans to share motherboard control while reducing the number of individual fan and lighting headers needed.
The hub connects to a motherboard through one 4-pin PWM fan header and one 3-pin 5V ARGB lighting header. It then distributes those control signals across six outputs, allowing connected fans to follow the same fan-speed and lighting commands. This is particularly useful in gaming cases with multiple front, top and rear fans where direct motherboard headers can quickly run out.
Power is supplied through SATA rather than drawing all required power from the motherboard headers. That provides a stable power source for the connected devices while the motherboard continues to handle PWM and ARGB control signals. Because the SC790 mirrors the incoming control signal, it is best suited to builds where synchronized fan speeds and coordinated lighting are preferred over individual fan-by-fan adjustment.
The compact hub can be placed inside the chassis to keep fan wiring concentrated in one area, helping reduce cable clutter around the motherboard. It works well in new PC builds as well as cooling upgrades where additional PWM ARGB fans are being added.
Before installation, confirm that the motherboard provides a 5V 3-pin ARGB header and a 4-pin PWM header. The ARGB connection is 5V and should not be connected to a 12V four-pin RGB header.
When several devices are attached at once, the total bandwidth and power available are shared across the hub. High-speed storage, external displays and charging therefore depend on the capabilities of the host port and the hub's own design. Checking those limits before purchase prevents expecting every port to run at its headline maximum simultaneously.
